Accepted Documents Confirming Language Proficiency

Minimum Level: B2 (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing)

To study at WSB University, candidates must provide proof of English language proficiency. You can submit one of the following documents:


1. Language Certificates Issued by Recognized Institutions

A certificate, diploma, or other official document confirming B2, C1, or C2 level proficiency in all four skills, issued by one of the following:

  • University of Cambridge (ESOL Examinations): FCE, CAE, CPE, BEC Vantage, CEIBT
  • IELTS: Minimum overall score – 5.5
  • Trinity College London:
    • ESOL Skills for Life – Level 1 (B2) or higher
    • Integrated Skills in English (ISE II or higher)
    • ISE Digital – over 80 points (B2)
  • Educational Testing Service (ETS):
    • TOEFL iBT – minimum 72 points
    • TOEIC – minimum: 785 (Listening & Reading), 150 (Speaking), 160 (Writing)
  • Pearson Assessment English: Pearson Test of English (PTE General/Academic) – minimum 59 points or Level 3
  • LanguageCert (PeopleCert Qualifications – PCQ):
    • LanguageCert International ESOL – Communicator B2 or higher
    • LanguageCert Academic B2 or higher
    • LanguageCert Test of English B2 or higher
  • EDI (LCCI): Recognized certificates at B2 level or higher
  • European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages: Level B2 (Vantage) or higher
  • telc GmbH / WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH:
    • telc English
    • telc English Business
    • telc English Technical
    • telc English University

2. Preparatory Course Certificate

Completion of a preparatory course for studies in Poland (as per Article 60(4) of the Act of 12 December 2013 on Foreigners), lasting at least 9 months, confirming B2-level proficiency in all four language skills.

3. Diploma of Higher Education

Completion of Bachelor’s, Master’s, or long-cycle studies in philology or applied linguistics (minimum 500 hours of instruction in the relevant language). Alternatively, a diploma from a university (Polish or foreign) stating the language of instruction. If the diploma does not include this information, please provide a diploma supplement or a separate certificate confirming it.

4. International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma)

Accepted for the primary language of instruction.

5. European Baccalaureate Diploma

Accepted for the first (L1) or second (L2) language.
