Promoting Low-Emission Transportation
To reduce emissions from daily commuting and campus mobility, WSB University has implemented several measures that discourage excessive vehicle use and promote sustainable transportation options:
- Limited Private Vehicle Parking: A limited number parking space policy has been introduced to reduce the number of private vehicles entering campus grounds. The system encourages the use of public transport, cycling, or walking, thereby reducing overall CO₂ emissions.
- Ride-Sharing and Carpooling Programs: The University supports ride-share and carpool initiatives, helping staff and students reduce their individual carbon footprint and traffic congestion. This initiative fosters a sense of community while promoting sustainable commuting habits.
- Bicycle-Friendly Infrastructure: Secure bicycle parking facilities and dedicated lanes have been installed to encourage cycling as a clean, healthy, and affordable alternative to driving.
- Integration with Public Transport: WSB University’s campuses are located in areas well-served by public transportation networks, and awareness campaigns promote bus and train usage as primary commuting options.
