V International Staff Week 2023

We are thrilled to invite you to the 5th International Staff Week on "Enhancing Internationalization through Innovative Education," hosted by WSB University. This exciting event will be held from 8th to 12th of May at our campus in Silesia and Krakow.

Our International Staff Week is a unique opportunity for educators and administrative staff from around the world to come together and exchange ideas, best practices, and experiences on internationalization in education. Through a series of workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, we aim to foster collaboration, promote innovation, and explore new approaches to internationalization in education.

In addition to the enriching professional program, we have also planned social and cultural activities to showcase the rich heritage of our region and create opportunities for informal networking and intercultural exchange.

 

Program:

 

Monday 8th

  • 9:30 — 10:00 Registration of participants
  • 10:00 - 10:10 Welcome note — Rafat Rebilas, PhD - Vice Rector for International Cooperation, WSB University
  • 10:10 — 11:00 Ice breaking
  • 11:00 — 12:00 Presentations of participants and their home universities
  • 12:00 — 13:00 Lunch in university canteen
  • 13:00 — 14:30 Presentations of participants and their home universities tbc
  • 14:30 — 15:00 Tour around university

 

Tuesday 9th

  • 10:00 — 12:00 New methods of education
  • 12:00 — 13:00 Lunch in university canteen (provided by WSBU)
  • 13:00 — 14:30 Gamification in Education
  • 15:00 — 17:30 Trip to Katowice by shuttle bus: visit to Silesian Museum & Nikiszowiec Neighbourhood
  • 19:00 — 21:00 Dinner in 'TATIANA' Restaurant in Katowice
  • 21:30 — Return to Dąbrowa Górnicza by shuttle bus

 

Wednesday 10th

  • 10:00 — 11:00 Microcredentials: state-of-play and future developments
  • 12:00 — 18:00 Lunch in university canteen
  • 13:00 — 14:00 Education for sustainable development
  • 14:00 — 15:00 International Coffee Break — participants to bring their traditional food and drink for sharing
  • 19:00 Jam Session in Katowice

 

Thursday 11th

  • 10:00 - 12:00 Interactive discussion session moderated by IRO Office: Internationalization at home and abroad/Structuring Institutional; Internationalization Strategy/Internationalization activities of partner institutions
  • 12:00 — 13:00 Lunch in university canteen
  • 13:00 — lectures by participants doing Staff Mobility for Teaching / other participants have free time

 

Friday 12th

  • 9:00 — a day trip to Kraków: visiting the city with a tour guide and a meeting at WSB University offices in Krakow,

The shuttle bus will leave Dąbrowa Górnicza at 9:00h and will pick up participants from their hotels in Dąbrowa G6rnicza. Bus will leave Kraków at 19:00 and return to Dąbrowa Górnicza
