The volunteers were responsible for conducting cultural workshops for students in order to present their culture and countries of origin — France and Romania. During the workshops, they shared stories, traditions, and small details that best represent the places they come from. With each presentation, they became more confident and increasingly excited about the opportunity to talk about their identity. The students asked questions that encouraged the volunteers to reflect on their own culture from a completely new perspective. The volunteers themselves also learned a lot by observing how young people perceive their countries and traditions. Each class had its own unique energy, and the volunteers happily adapted to every group.
During the week spent leading the workshops, the volunteers also met several truly exceptional teachers, with whom they quickly built a great connection. Over the following days, they talked, laughed, and shared stories, which made the entire experience even more special. They noticed how dedicated the teachers were to their work and how much passion and energy they brought into every lesson.
The volunteers remember leading the workshops as one of the best and most rewarding tasks they carried out during the project.
