RESCUER Project Team at the ICTEAT 2025 International Conference in Frankfurt

On 2-3 December 2025, the research team of the RESCUER project participated in the International Conference on Tourism Education and Training (ICTEAT-25), held in hybrid mode in Frankfurt, Germany. The project was represented by Dr. Paweł Buchwald, Prof. Ryszard Szynowski, and Prof. Olga Nowotny-Czupryna.

During the conference, Dr. Paweł Buchwald presented the results of ongoing research on an innovative two-component method for validating content designed for virtual reality environments. His presentation, titled “The Use of Virtual Reality and Content Validation Methods Based on Text and Image Analysis for Assessing Information Comprehensibility: A Case Study of the Rescuer Application Design for Improving Mountain Tourism Safety”, showcased a new approach that integrates linguistic readability assessment with graphical and accessibility-based analysis in VR.

The study-conducted with 130 participants involved in mountain tourism-demonstrated that more than 98% of respondents found the content of the RESCUER application clear and easy to understand. Statistical analyses further confirmed the universal usability of the system, with no significant differences across age or gender. The proposed validation framework, combining traditional readability indices (Haming, Fog, Pisarek), NLP-based semantic evaluation, and WCAG-derived accessibility indicators, significantly enhances clarity and reduces the risk of misinterpretation in immersive training environments.

The presented findings underscore the contribution of the RESCUER project to the advancement of digital accessibility, VR-based education, and mountain tourism safety. They also highlight the potential of adaptive, AI-supported content validation methods to improve user experience, safety training effectiveness, and decision-making processes in virtual environments.
