The inaugural meeting of the project "VR technologies for Mountain Rescue Brigades to assure seniors and people with disabilities safety in cross-border mountain areas (RESCUER)" was held on March 27, 2024. The event was attended by project partners, the research team and coordinators, who jointly discussed the project's objectives and plan of activities for the coming months.
About the project
RESCUER is a two-year project under the Erasmus+ program to develop a VR course for mountain rescue brigades. The state-of-the-art educational tool, which includes four scenarios in five languages, is designed to support rescuers in better understanding the needs of seniors and people with disabilities, helping to improve safety in mountainous cross-border areas.
International cooperation
The project is being implemented in cooperation with partners from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria:
- European Center of Entrepreneurship Competence & Excellence (Austria),
- Mesto Čadca (Slovakia),
- Institut EuroSchola (Czech Republic).
- During the meeting, a schedule of key activities was presented, including study visits, international workshops and pilot testing of the VR course. The partners also discussed technical and organizational details necessary for the successful implementation of the project.
