Application and appeals procedure (accessibility)
Everyone has the right to submit a request for architectural accessibility to be provided.
The request should include:
- The details of the person making the request;
- A description of the specific barrier concerned;
- Contact details;
- Optionally – the preferred method of ensuring accessibility.
If the applicant indicates a need to receive information in an alternative format, they should also specify the format in which they would prefer to receive the information.
The organisation is obliged to comply with the request without delay, but no later than within 14 days of the date on which it was submitted. If it is not possible to meet this deadline, the organisation is obliged to inform the person making the request without delay of the reasons for the delay and to specify a new deadline for compliance. This deadline must not exceed 2 months from the date on which the request was submitted.
If it is not possible to ensure architectural accessibility, the entity may propose an alternative means of accessing the information.
In the event of a refusal to comply with a request for architectural accessibility or a refusal to provide an alternative means of accessing the information, the person making the request has the right to lodge a complaint with the Chair of the PFRON Management Board within 30 days of the expiry of the above deadlines.
