Challenging Migration

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 19-20 March 2026

CHALLENGING MIGRATION: SECURITY, MOBILITY, LABOUR MARKET, INTEGRATION, HUMAN RIGHTS

The aim of the conference is to initiate interdisciplinary discussion on migration as a global challenge for Europe in the twenty-first century. Perceived as a threat to destination and transit countries, migration is discussed as a problem to solve or a danger to stop. But as migration has become a key challenge for European countries, there is a need to propose new, sustainable solutions for migration management that respect not only security, but also human rights, integration and the needs of labour markets in destination countries.
The conference will cover four areas in four dedicated panels:

  1. Migration security nexus
  2. Best practices in integration and intercultural dialogue
  3. Human rights in the context of migration
  4. Migration as a solution for the challenges in labour markets in destination countries

The hybrid mode enables the attraction of speakers and participants from Europe, the USA, and African countries to discuss multilevel, sustainable migration governance across various contexts.
