Prof. Olga Nowotny-Czupryna graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice in 1993, earning a master’s degree in physical rehabilitation. In 2001, she obtained her PhD in physical culture sciences from the same institution. In 2014, she was awarded the degree of habilitated doctor of health sciences by the Medical University of Warsaw.

Academic and Professional Career:
Prof. Nowotny-Czupryna began her academic career as a lecturer and researcher at the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, where she worked from 1993 to 2001. She then served as an assistant professor at the Silesian Medical University in Katowice from 2001 to 2011. From 2005 to 2017, she held the position of assistant professor at the Higher School of Administration in Bielsko-Biała. Currently, she is a professor at the WSB Academy in Dąbrowa Górnicza, where she leads the Department of Health Sciences.

Scientific Contributions:
Prof. Nowotny-Czupryna has authored and co-authored numerous scientific works, including:

8 textbooks for physiotherapy students and practitioners,
Over 60 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals,
1 scientific monograph,
2 chapters and co-authorship of 17 chapters in scientific monographs,
Editorial oversight of 1 interdisciplinary monograph.
She is also one of the authors of the collective work “A Small Dictionary of Physiotherapy: Polish-English and English-Polish Nomenclature with Definitions” and has actively participated in over 40 national and international scientific conferences.

Research Interests:
Prof. Nowotny-Czupryna focuses her research on physioprophylaxis and physiotherapy, particularly in the prevention and treatment of postural disorders, health-related quality of life, and the prevention of civilization diseases. Her interests also include ergonomics, specifically ergonomic aspects of work in medical professions, as well as the needs of children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Another significant area of her research is interdisciplinarity and universal design, including the quality of life of people with special needs and correcting lifestyle-related errors across various age groups.

Additional Information:
Prof. Nowotny-Czupryna is passionate about sports photography and serves as an accredited photographer at international judo tournaments for veterans, including the European and World Championships.

Dr. Krzysztof Czupryna graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice in 1993 with a master’s degree in physical rehabilitation. In 2001, he earned a PhD in physical culture sciences from the same institution. In 2010, he obtained the title of Specialist in Physiotherapy.

Dr. Czupryna began his academic career as a lecturer and researcher at the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, where he worked from 1993 to 2002. He then served as an assistant professor at the Silesian Medical University in Katowice from 2002 to 2011. From 2006 to 2017, he held the position of assistant professor at the Higher School of Administration in Bielsko-Biała. Since 2017, he has been affiliated with the WSB Academy in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

Dr. Czupryna’s research focuses on:

Pediatric neurorehabilitation,
Postural reeducation in children and youth,
Analysis of pathological gait patterns,
Quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families,
Preventive health aspects of physical activity,
The application of new technologies in physiotherapy.
He has contributed to numerous research projects, including those on movement patterns in children with neurological disorders, quality of life for families of children with cerebral palsy, and supporting the rehabilitation process using modern technologies.

Dr. Czupryna has gained extensive experience as a physiotherapist, working in various facilities, including:

Public Healthcare Facility, Rehabilitation and Care Centre in Mysłowice,

Beskid Medical and Rehabilitation Complex, Long-Term Care Hospital in Jaworze.
Sports Activities:
Dr. Czupryna has been practicing judo since the age of 14 and represents the Kejza Team Rybnik club. He holds a 5th DAN degree and is an active judo instructor. As a competitor, he represents Poland in the veterans’ category (+30 years), achieving numerous titles, including:

Vice-World Veteran Champion (Cancun, 2018),
Two-time European Veteran Champion (Zagreb, 2017; Heraklion, 2022),
Multiple Polish Veteran Champion and medalist in international judo tournaments.
