On November 19, 2020, an online international scientific conference on "Place in space - the subject of reflection and the area of educational activities" will be held. This event is organized to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the birth of Wojciech Kojs, PhD, ProfTit, and the 15th anniversary of the Department of Education at the WSB Academy. Over 60 participants from Polish and foreign universities (from the USA, Italy, Turkey, Lithuania, Ukraine, Slovakia and the Czech Republic) have announced their participation.
Among Polish scholars, the conference will be attended by leading professors of educational sciences, including:

Prof. Agnieszka Cybal-Michalska, PhD, ProfTit
Chairwoman of the Educational Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Chair of the Department of Socio-pedagogical Youth Problems, member of the Presidium of the Board of the Polish Educational Research Society, visiting professor at universities in London, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Edinburgh and New York. Her research interests include: the European dimension of education and its evolution in global conditions, the condition of modern people, socio-pedagogical problems of youth, challenges of the world of "boundless" careers.

Zbyszko Melosik, PhD, Prof.Tit, Dr. h.c
In 2017-2019 member of the Central Committee for Academic Degrees and Titles, in 2008-2016 Dean of the Faculty of Educational Studies at the Adam Mickiewicz University, and from 2019 the vice-rector of this University; Fulbright scholarship holder, visiting professor at American universities. In 2019, awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for outstanding merits in research and teaching. Professor Zbyszko Melosik will give a lecture on Samochód i rekonstrukcje przestrzeni miejskiej [The Car and Reconstructions of Urban Space].

Jerzy Nikitorowicz PhD, ProfTit
Member of the Central Committee for Academic Degrees and Titles, founder and chair of the Department of Intercultural Education at the University of Bialystok and Rector of that University in 2005-2012, member of the Presidium of the Educational Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, member of the International Academy of National Minorites Research. In 2009, he was awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland with the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for outstanding services in promoting knowledge about the common historical heritage of the nations that make up the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Professor Jerzy Nikitorowicz will give a lecture on Miejsce – tożsamość – pamięć [Place - Identity – Memory].

Bogusław Śliwerski, PhD, ProfTit, Dr h.c. multi
Member of the Central Committee for Academic Degrees and Titles, member of the Council of Scientific Excellence, Chairman of the Educational Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2012-2019), author of 39 scientific monographs. Elisa Palomba, PhD
Associate professor of pedagogy and special education at the Department of History, Society and Human Studies at the University of Salento (Italy). Visiting professor at universities in Turkey, Spain, Great Britain (University of Cambridge) and Algeria. Her main research areas: early childhood education and care; learning environment; children and narratives: fairy tale, cartoons and videogames; e-learning and ICT. Professor Elisa Palomba will give a lecture on La progettazione degli ambienti di apprendimento nella prima infanzia: criteri educativi e principi pedagogici [Designing Learning Places for Early Childhood - Educational Criteria and Pedagogical Principles].

Olga Tsaryk, PhD
Associate professor at the Department for Foreign Languages, Information and Communication Technologies of the Westukrainian National University, Deputy Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute for International Relations - coordinator of the Ukrainian-German faculty program, DAAD scholarship holder. Professr Olga Tsaryk will give a lecture entitled Interkulturalismus in Galizien zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts [Interculturalism in Galicia at the Beginning of the 20th Century].

Adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law where he teaches course in Employment Discrimination, Law & the Media, Policing the Police. Formerly Chief Deputy City Attorney for the City of Miami Beach. He has assisted the City on a Department of Justice research grant studying police body cameras. Visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge Institute of Criminology. Professor Donald M. Papy will give a lecture on Police Use-of-Force Incidents and Training: the Importance of Place and Space.
