8th Academic Quality Forum

Education in an Uncertain World

October 12, 2026 | ONLINE

We live in a world that is becoming increasingly difficult to describe using old categories. The fragile, fearful, nonlinear, and incomprehensible world of BANI poses questions for education to which there are no ready answers. Labor markets are changing faster than academic programs. Technologies that are cutting-edge today will be obsolete tomorrow. The students we educate today will work in professions that do not yet exist, solving problems we cannot yet name.

In the face of this uncertainty, it is not enough to ask what we teach. We must ask: Who does a person become through the process of learning, and are they ready to function in a world we do not yet know? In an age when machines are becoming ever better machines, should people be becoming ever more human?

We are dedicating the 8th Academic Quality Forum to these very questions. This year’s edition centers on three pillars that, we believe, define education suited to uncertain times:

  • Mental toughness – not as an innate trait, but as a skill that can be consciously developed. How can a university shape students and faculty members who are capable of functioning despite pressure, setbacks, and complexity?
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving: In a world where artificial intelligence provides instant answers, the ability to ask the right questions, evaluate information, and think systemically becomes invaluable. How do we develop these competencies in our daily teaching practice?
  • Innovative teaching – because a shift in how we think about education must translate into concrete classroom practice. How can we foster critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and agency in practice, and how can we create a space where students face real challenges—not just exams?

This forum is a space for reflection and dialogue for instructors, academic leaders, and everyone who cares about the quality of education. The program will feature inspiring presentations by Polish and international experts, as well as a session on best practices.

We invite you to join us in seeking answers to the question we all ask ourselves: How can we educate people who are ready for a world we do not yet know?
