Career Development and Internship Opportunities
Preparing students for successful careers is a central focus of WSB Business School. From day one, students have access to the Academic Career Office – a dedicated team of career advisors and industry liaisons who guide students in defining and achieving their professional goals. Our approach to career development is proactive and personalized. Students receive one-on-one career counseling, help with CV and cover letter preparation, and coaching for job interviews and assessment centers. We organize regular career workshops and skill-building seminars (for example, on networking strategies, personal branding, or emerging skills like data visualization) to enhance students’ employability. Each academic program is designed with career readiness in mind, embedding skills that employers value such as teamwork, communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
A hallmark of WSB Business School is its strong internship program and practical training requirements. All undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged – and in many programs required – to complete internships or practical projects as part of their curriculum. The School has a wide network of partner companies and organizations that offer internship placements, ranging from multinational corporations and local businesses to NGOs and public institutions. Thanks to these partnerships, WSB strives to achieve a 100% placement rate for students seeking internships, ensuring everyone can gain meaningful work experience before graduation. Internship placements cover various sectors (finance, consulting, manufacturing, IT, hospitality, etc.) and are closely aligned with students’ fields of study. The Career Office works individually with students to match them to internship opportunities that fit their interests and career plans. Throughout the internship, faculty mentors and career advisors remain in contact with students to help them reflect on their learning and to liaise with employers if needed.
In addition to internships, the Business School integrates experiential learning in the form of capstone projects and industry collaborations. Many programs culminate in a capstone consultancy project where student teams solve real problems for company clients. For instance, MBA students might undertake a strategic analysis for a growing startup, or Master’s in Management students might work on optimizing a process for a manufacturing firm. These projects often involve direct mentorship from industry executives and provide students with substantial, resume-worthy achievements. By 2026, we plan to have formalized Industry Advisory Boards for each major program (e.g., an advisory board of corporate HR directors for the HRM specialization, or tech entrepreneurs for the Business Analytics program) to ensure curricula stay relevant and to generate live project opportunities for students.
The School also hosts on-campus recruitment events and job fairs, where companies come to meet and hire our students for jobs and internships. We pride ourselves on our graduates’ employment outcomes – consistently, a high percentage of WSB alumni secure employment or start their own businesses within months of graduation. We track and publicize these outcomes as an indicator of our impact, and our aim is to continuously improve graduate employability rates each year.
To enrich the career development experience, WSB Business School brings the world of practice directly to campus: each semester, every program invites guest speakers and distinguished lecturers from industry (often alumni or corporate partners) to share insights and trends with students. These sessions allow students to learn about various industries, understand employer expectations, and start building professional networks while still studying. Furthermore, the forthcoming Executive-in-Residence initiative will place seasoned executives on campus as mentors and advisors – a unique resource for students to gain guidance on career paths, leadership, and entrepreneurship from those who have proven track records in business. In summary, through required practical experiences, dedicated career services, and immersive industry engagement, WSB Business School ensures that its students are career-ready and empowered to achieve their professional aspirations.
Alumni Network and Lifelong Engagement
WSB Business School boasts a growing and dynamic alumni network that spans across Poland and the globe. Our alumni are our ambassadors and an integral part of the WSB community. They include successful entrepreneurs, executives in major companies, analysts, consultants, public officials, and academic figures. The School, in collaboration with the Alumni and Students Association of WSB University, invests in maintaining strong ties with graduates and fostering opportunities for them to stay involved. Upon graduation, every student is welcomed into the WSB Business School Alumni Network, which provides a platform for networking, professional development, and community service.
Lifelong networking and support: Alumni have access to various networking events such as annual reunions, industry-specific meetups in major cities, and online webinars. These events allow graduates from different cohorts and programs to meet each other, exchange experiences, and explore business collaborations. The School also facilitates sector-based alumni clubs (for example, an “WSB Finance Professionals Network” or “WSB Start-up Founders Club”) that organize their own activities and mentorship circles. A proprietary online alumni portal helps our graduates stay connected, share job postings, and seek/provide advice on career moves. The strength of our alumni connections is demonstrated by the fact that many of our current students find internships or jobs through alumni referrals, and numerous alumni return to pursue further education or recruit talent from WSB.
Alumni engagement in the School
We actively encourage alumni to contribute their expertise to the academic community. Many alumni serve on the aforementioned Program Advisory Boards, lending their insights to keep courses aligned with industry changes. Alumni frequently come back as guest lecturers or panelists, speaking to students about topics ranging from emerging industry trends to personal career journeys. Through the Alumni Mentorship Program, experienced alumni are paired with current students or recent graduates to provide guidance on career planning, skill development, and professional growth. This one-on-one mentoring has been highly valued by students as they transition into the workforce. Additionally, WSB invites distinguished alumni to be part of its Executive-in-Residence roster or as judges for student competitions and startup pitch contests, which enriches the educational experience with real-world perspectives.
Lifelong learning
True to the spirit of lifelong learning, the Business School offers alumni continued access to educational resources. Graduates are eligible for alumni discounts on executive education courses and postgraduate certificates, enabling them to upskill as the needs of their industries evolve. We host periodic “Alumni Knowledge Series” workshops (often virtually) where alumni can learn about the latest developments in areas like fintech, project management, or leadership – essentially mini-courses taught by WSB faculty or fellow alumni experts. In addition, the WSB University library and online databases remain accessible to alumni, so they can stay informed with academic and industry research.
The achievements of our alumni also feed back into the School’s reputation and development. We proudly track alumni accomplishments – whether it’s a startup founded by a recent graduate, a promotion to a C-suite position, or a research breakthrough by an alumna in academia. These success stories are shared in our publications and newsletters, serving to inspire current students. Alumni also often collaborate with the School in other capacities: providing student internship placements at their companies, sponsoring scholarships or awards, or partnering with our faculty on research and consulting projects. This robust alumni engagement creates a virtuous cycle of support, where each generation of graduates helps uplift the next. WSB Business School is committed to nurturing this lifelong relationship, recognizing that our responsibility to students does not end at graduation. As we implement our Strategy 2024–2030, we envision an even more internationally engaged alumni network, connecting WSB graduates across borders and amplifying the School’s global impact through their collective influence.
Student Life and Campus Experience
Life at WSB Business School is characterized by a vibrant campus atmosphere and a supportive student community, which together create an ideal environment for personal growth and extracurricular learning. Our students come from all regions of Poland and over 50 countries worldwide, reflecting a rich diversity of cultures and perspectives. In fact, WSB University currently hosts around 3,000 international students across its campuses, and the Business School itself is a magnet for globally-minded students pursuing business education. This multicultural environment means that day-to-day student life often involves cross-cultural collaboration, international festivals, language exchanges, and a general celebration of diversity. English is commonly spoken alongside Polish on campus, and many student activities are conducted bilingually to ensure inclusivity for foreign students.
Campus and facilities
WSB Business School operates primarily at WSB University’s Dąbrowa Górnicza campus, with programs also offered at the new Warsaw campus and the Kraków branch, among others. Our facilities are modern and geared toward collaborative learning. Students benefit from state-of-the-art lecture halls and seminar rooms equipped with smart technologies (interactive projectors, high-speed Wi-Fi, video conferencing setups), computer laboratories with specialized software, and innovative learning spaces like the Digital Innovation Lab (a newly introduced space for experimenting with VR/AR simulations and data analysis projects). The campus library offers an extensive collection of books and e-resources in multiple languages, and quiet study areas for individual or group work. There are also student lounges, cafeterias, and coffee spots which serve as social hubs. To support a healthy balance between study and leisure, the campus provides recreational facilities including access to sports halls and fitness centers. WSB’s Academic Sports Association coordinates various sports teams and activities, encouraging students to stay active and possibly represent the university in competitions.
Student organizations and activities
WSB Business School has a thriving array of student-run clubs and organizations that cater to a wide range of interests. Whether a student is interested in entrepreneurship, consulting, finance, marketing, or social causes, there is likely a club or society to join. For example, the Entrepreneurship Club regularly holds startup pitch nights and invites local entrepreneurs for Q&A sessions. The Consulting Society organizes case-cracking workshops and competitions to prepare students for careers in consulting. Our Investment and Finance Club runs a mock portfolio challenge and hosts talks by finance professionals. Beyond business-focused groups, students can engage in cultural and recreational clubs – such as language exchange clubs, a photography club, or sports teams from basketball to volleyball managed under the sports association. These organizations not only allow students to pursue their passions but also provide leadership opportunities and a chance to apply organizational skills in real projects (event planning, fundraising, marketing club activities, etc.).
Student support services
We understand that thriving in university life requires more than academic resources, so WSB Business School, together with WSB University’s administration, offers comprehensive support services. The International Dean’s Office and International Cooperation Office assist foreign students with everything from visa documentation to finding housing and adjusting to life in Poland. In fact, we are establishing a dedicated International Student Office to streamline onboarding and provide ongoing support tailored to international students – helping with language courses, integration activities, and resolving any challenges of living abroad. For all students, the Student Services Center (or Dean’s office for students) is the go-to place for administrative help, whether it’s regarding course registration, obtaining transcripts, or guidance on university regulations.
The Business School is deeply committed to inclusivity and accessibility. The Office for Persons with Disabilities ensures that students with disabilities or special needs receive appropriate accommodations and support, such as adaptive technology, schedule flexibility, or tutoring if needed. There is also a Support Zone for students, which offers counseling and wellbeing services – students can seek confidential support for personal issues, stress management, or mental health concerns from professional counselors in the University’s support center. Additionally, merit-based and need-based scholarships are available through the Scholarship Office, and our faculty advisors are approachable for academic mentoring outside class.
Security and convenience are also part of student life enhancements: the campus employs modern security measures, and international students benefit from resources like the “Your Stay in Poland” guide and assistance program which provides practical information on healthcare, legal matters, and adjusting to local culture. Lastly, WSB’s digital infrastructure contributes to student life by simplifying many processes – through the Personal Student Profile and Virtual University online platforms, students can handle course enrollments, check grades, access e-learning materials, and even take part in virtual classes or meetings. These platforms, part of WSB’s drive to be a “Digital University,” ensure that students can manage their academic life efficiently and stay connected with the community even when off-campus.
In sum, student life at WSB Business School is dynamic, inclusive, and well-supported. Students form lifelong friendships and professional connections in an environment that celebrates diversity and holistic growth. The combination of rigorous academics, career preparation, active student organizations, and strong support networks means that WSB graduates leave not only with a degree but with enriched life experiences, a global mindset, and a sense of belonging to a distinguished community of WSB Business School alumni.
