This mission statement highlights several key aspects of who we are and what we do. Firstly, it emphasizes the integration of academic excellence with practical experience – indicating that our pedagogy balances rigorous theoretical instruction with hands-on, experiential learning. Students at WSB Business School are not only expected to master advanced knowledge in business disciplines but also to apply this knowledge in real-world contexts, through internships, projects, and industry collaborations. Secondly, the mission situates our efforts within the values of WSB University, reinforcing alignment with the parent institution’s ethos. The mission guides our strategy by serving as a constant reminder of our dual commitment: to our students (in providing them excellent and practical education) and to our broader community (in generating research and partnerships that benefit society). It is intentionally aligned with WSB University’s own mission of creating an open and innovative academic community focused on future challenges. In operationalizing this mission over 2024–2030, WSB Business School will launch initiatives to strengthen teaching quality, expand practical training opportunities, intensify research with real-world impact, and deepen engagement with industry and community partners – all of which are detailed under our strategic pillars. The mission statement thus sets the tone for all subsequent sections of this strategic plan.
